Energy studies and certification

Missions linked to the ISSeP Energy Unit
Its activities include energy audits and the preparation of energy performance certificates, as well as AMURE-UREBA energy audits, which enable us to study the feasibility of renewable energy production technologies.

The exceptional 2013 UREBA program was designed to support certain organizations that want to reduce the energy consumption of their buildings. The program covers thermal insulation of building walls, and replacement and upgrading of heating and lighting systems.
ISSeP benefits from “UREBA exceptional” subsidies for the renovation of its buildings:
– Replacement of boilers and heating circuit at I.S.Se.P.
– Installation of double-glazing on the windows of the I.S.Se.P. buildings.
Replacing the buildings’ boilers and windows will generate savings of 505,856 kWh/year, leading to a reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere of 127 tonnes per year.

The Institute also benefited from ordinary UREBA subsidies to insulate the walls and roofs of its buildings.
Insulating the walls and roofs will generate savings of 552,000 kWh/year, reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 149 tonnes per year.

Legislation
Energy performance regulations for buildings came into force on September 1, 2008 (framework decree of April 19, 2007 and application decrees of April 17, 2008). These regulations apply to all buildings (with some exceptions explicitly covered by the regulations) for all construction, reconstruction and conversion work requiring planning permission.
An initial transition phase began on September 1, 2008, and a second phase came into effect on May 1, 2010. The “consumption” EPB requirements were tightened on September 1, 2011, and the “insulation” EPB requirements were tightened on June 1, 2012.
