April 20, 2023: ICOS Belgium Science conference, Brussels

The Belgian scientific conference ICOS 2023 focuses on the general theme “From science to impact”. ICOS is a European network that studies the carbon dioxide flows of different ecosystems to see if they are capable of offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions.
Since 2010, our partner ULiège has been measuring the exchange of CO2 and methane, two greenhouse gases, between the ecosystem of a Belgian blue-white pasture and the atmosphere at Dorinne.
ISSeP is contributing to the online publication of this unique data, crucial for a better understanding of climate change.

In all, three Walloon stations will be accessible on the ICOS site: Lonzée, Vielsam and Dorinne.

During the conference, we will delve into the research studies currently being carried out at the Belgian ICOS stations. In addition, we will discover new opportunities with different research fields and industries, and explore how climate research can contribute to policy-making.
