This annual report highlights the colossal amount of work carried out by all the teams in each unit. Their daily involvement is an example of determination and dedication to making Wallonia healthy and safe for its citizens. By drawing on its scientific rigor and the diversity and complementarity of its skills, the Institute provided even higher-quality services in 2017 to better meet the needs of public authorities in terms of accidental, chronic and environmental health risk prevention and assessment, and environmental monitoring. 2017, a year also marked by the formalization and signing of the Administration Contract. A first since the creation of ISSeP! This contract defines the strategic and operational objectives to which the Institute is committed, as well as its medium-term planning, addressing both cross-functional and sector-specific management issues. The number of research projects continues to rise in 2017. This growth and dynamism symbolize the growing importance of research and development at ISSeP. Its aim is to confirm its position as the leading organization for environmental metrology and risk assessment in Wallonia. These research projects are also an opportunity to forge partnerships with public and private organizations. These various collaborations, conducive to the exchange and sharing of knowledge, mean that ISSeP is now positioned as an officially recognized research organization within the meaning of the decree of May 21, 2015.
